- the best form of protein will include all 9 essential amino acids that our body can't naturally produce; poultry, pork, lean beef, fish, dairy, eggs, nuts and oats are the best
- bean, seeds, cornmeal are also good but don't have all the essential amino acids
- bread, rice, pasta and potatoes do contain protein but not the essential amino acids, making them the incomplete sources
