First Half Race - Post-Op

I did it!

First half marathon since my operation 5 1/2 months ago. I have done a few 5ks & 10ks but this was a true test for me.

I did well until 12K mark - I could feel the incision but I kept going (just slowed down) - at the 19K mark I had to walk (for 1K) but I did finish in a slow jog.

I just want to note for the record - that life has thrown me some, physical, crap since 2008 but it hasn't stopped me. I know they never read this but, I'd like to thank Dr. Harper for saving my life in 2008 & Dr. Harris for the clean up 5 months ago.

Also like to say, that for all those out there that say you can't leg press 800lbs, lift  heavy weights, & jog a 5k 10k 21.1k race - I just did it, maybe not fast, but I did it! It CAN BE DONE!

From here on out it's all up hill - nothing can stop me now.

This is an open invitation to all readers, join me on my fitness journey - it would be my pleasure to be part of yours.

Me at the starting line.

My first race selfie with Tristan!
